Default Fall event in Iva and Lake Secession --October 18th

The Fall Event will be held in Iva and on Lake Secession on October 18th.

A time for members to share a day together doing what we love, crappie fishing This is a great time to meet other members that we share this great site with. If you are a new member or someone thinking about joining please feel free to come and join in with us for a day long great time.
As the water will begin to cool down from the hot summer temps the bite will become better as more fish more into shallow water to feed up for the winter months. October is a great month to be on the lakes and we think all will have a great time at this event.

We will have our Crappie fishing tournament in the morning, Trophies will go to the 1st - 2nd - 3rd places. We will have time after the tournament for fellowship and a meal. Bring a box lunch or you can pick up a meal at one of the restaurant in town.
Bring a chair with you as I'm not sure that the shelter has tables or chairs. If someone has a table you can bring please do.
These events have cost to them and Jimmy and myself are paying for this event up front, we ask for you to give what you can to help cover the cost. We will have a donation box at the shelter.

    (Crappie Tournament)

5 crappie weigh-in per boat team.
Sign-in and live well check will be held at 5:30 to 6:30 AM in Iva at the Iva Farmers Market shelter located down town on Hwy 81.
Fishing time will start at safe light on Lake Secession.
Weigh-in will be held back in Iva at the Farmers Market shelter at 2:00 PM. You must allow travel time, if not at the weigh-in at 2:00 PM your weight will not be counted.

We look forward to seeing old friends and the chance to meet new ones,
Ronnie aka stumphunter & Jimmy Swanson

If we can keep Stumpy and Jimmy from catchin all the fish it should be a great time to fish this lake. The Farmers Almanac has good weather for that period in October. I think they more accurate than our local reporters. Hope to see a good crowd for this one. Dont be shy bout comin to an unknown lake. Somebody will put us on the right track. And you may get to see me take home that nice trophy they got posted. Let's go fishin ya'll ! How bout this York County crowd ? Got any takers on going over ?

    Ronnie and Jimmy,
Slab (Ed Moes) sent me a bag of goodies as give a ways for a kids fishing clinic I was teaching. Anyway I got more than I need for the clinic and he said we could use them as gifts at the Fall outing if you want to. I have a bunch of the CDC decals and several packs of jigs bodies in different colors. If you want me to bring them let me know and I'll let y'all decide how to give out.
Looking forward to the outing and thanks to both of you for doing this.

John there are many places to buy all you need. The shelter is in the middle of town and The Sportsman One Stop is only 1/2 mile and Burger King 1/2 mile the other way.

The Sportsman will have minnows and all the tackle you would ever need.

Can one of you give me a street address and zip code for the shelter and the Sportsman Shop? I am looking at hotels in Anderson and trying to find the closest one, plus I've never been to Iva or Secession so I can get lost with the best of them. Is the ramp we are using located at the bridge that crosses the lake (Hwy 184)?
Will we have time to get minnows at the Sportsman after the 5:30 check??
I know, I am full of questions. Next time I will know.
    Thanks
    Ray
