    Default 7-5-14 report

Hit the water bout 7:30 this morning only to be greeted with a stiff easterly wind. This made it tough for trolling. Pulled 1/16oz jigs, caught fish anywhere from 9 fow to 20 plus fow.Jig color didnt seem to matter much today.Fished about three hours, thats bout all I could stand and I was gonna help Mom clean up at church.Kept 9 for the dinner table. All nine of them had what looked like full stomachs and one 11 inch fish had a shad close to three inches inside him, almost looked like it had eggs, couldnt make out what i was in the others. It looked like they may have fed early, they didnt bite as good today as yesterday. Found the better fish shallow, close to brush.Between that and the wind whipping I donated several jigs to the lake today,.Heres the take home

I also marked the spot with an X so I could find it when I make it back!!

C'mon guys,I know I wasnt the only feller fishing friday and saturday.Lets see some other pictures

My son and I camped there last night. There is no doubt they have plenty to eat. Yesterday evening the water was like glass and balls of shad were on the surface everywhere. We caught plenty of fish before dark and at first light this morning, but lot's of shorties.

Not to bad considering the conditions. The weather got cooler, but the wind definitely picked up. Congrats on your day!

I'm not brave enough to goo out on Holiday weekends with all the once a year boaters. The plan is to hit the lake Mon morning to see what we can find.
Looks like you did a good job even with the wind. I'll look for the x when I get there. Thanks for the report

You got that trolling down pat,I wanted to fish fri and sat, but was afraid of the boat traffic, we ended up catfishing here on broad river last night, caught 50 + cats and nobody around.

No, hadn't tried them on small mouths, We catch a lot of smallies, but on artificial baits. They were hitting top water everywhere last night, but we were not prepared to fish for them.
