Default Compound and Wax for Boat?

What is a good compound to remove oxidation and a good wax for the boat? Could you use car compound and wax or do you need boat compound and wax? Thanks for your help.

All I have ever used is the same for cars and trucks.

If it is a fiberglass boat that has a gel coat finish(not Painted) the best compound I have found is Flitz. but you need a power buffer to cut the oxidation. Then just use a car wax to protect it. The original turtle wax in the green bottle works really well.

Yep! The toon get a wash and wax every year. The Old Jet boat got waxed before every trip....back in the day. It keeps them looking good.

U do know w washed n waxed boat is faster and saves fuel, but it tends to hurt your braking distance!

Robdogg, a waxed hull is slower than a un waxed hull. Back in the day I sailed Hobie Cats. To be competitive you had to wet sand your hulls with 600 sandpaper. The rougher surface lowers the drag coefficient of the fibre glass speeding to boat thru the water.
I know it doesn't wake sense but that the way it is.

Is there anything you can protect the floor on a fiberglass boat without making a skating rink out of it?
