Thumbs up Thanks SeaRay for a day on the river

Ray, I wanted to thank you again for sharing the boat with me today. Had a great time fishing with the fly rods today even tho the bream were not wanting to bite after the sun got high. Always fun to share some time with another member here at CDC and you are a top of the line person and member. We did manage to catch a few good bream while the sun was starting a new day, awesome time to be outside and watch a new day coming to life.

    Thanks, Ronnie

Some pics of the day, beautiful part of the Saluda River.

Definitely a beautiful place on earth. I love to go to the Saluda just to ride or float. Fish are a bonus. Thanks for sharing.

The pleasure was all mine. Sorry the bream bite was slow, but the current and high water probably had a lot to do with that. We did have a laugh at the ramp when we were coming in. A young fella was backing down the ramp as we arrived. We watched him stop his truck and the boat self launched. Ronnie and I were looking for the rope he had tied to it, but there was not one. He jumped out with a surprised look on his face and looked at us with a pitiful look and asked "Can y'all get my boat?" I had him figured for one of the boat launch idiots we tale about, but after I saw the little cutie pie he had with him, I forgave him for being distracted. The current was swift and when we ran the boat down we had trouble controlling it with a rope so Ronnie jumped in and got the motor started and drove it back to the dock. Our good deed for the day.
Speaking if good deeds, as you all know, Ronnie ties really nice jigs. Well he brought me a couple of packs of flies he tied. I did not really have a chance to look at them on the river, but when I got home and looked at them they look really good. They are grass shrimp imitations and I can't wait to try them.

Had a great time and hope to do it again.

Looks like a nice day for fishing the river. Glad to see you boys caught some brims too. Congrats.

Yea Gerald, I was thinking we could run up there one Tues or Thurs and feed them some crickets. Seems like we are dealing with high water everywhere though. I have my grandkids with me for the next 2 weeks but we can make a run up there in July if you want to try it. Between the wind and the high water we did not have the action that I have had in the past. I'll give you a shout and we can pick a day to go.
