Default Lighting to back down ramp at night?

Ive been using a boat ramp that doesnt have lights. I have a hard time seeing the boat ramp at night. You cant back straight in, you have to back in while turning and dont get straightened out until the trailer has started to drop down the ramp. Once the truck starts to drop the backup light give enough light to get in the water. What do you guys do to brighten the ramp? I dont want to mount a light on back bumper of truck, thinking about putting one on the front of trailer. Wont get in the water. might put to much glare off the trailer?

It aint a good answer shawn. Tough seeing in the nighttime when there's no moon out. I always used to get there before dark an only had to contend with taking out so it wasnt as bad. The light on the trailer might help especially if theyre back up lites, or you could set you out a battery type lantern or two at the ramp curbings so youll know where the ramp is at.

Shawn what about making a bracket to hold a light and mount the bracket to the boat trailer, could make two with one for each size. Could even use the clamp on lights and clamp one to your trailer when needed and your battery would be close for use.

I've been thinking on the same problem, launching a 22' toon in the dark isn't fun, I have to get out walk back to make sure I'm lined up. Anything on the back of the trailer would need to be water proof. I'm thinking about mounting something on the back of the boat, run off the aux battery, but then where to mount it. Or maybe a bar that attaches to the truck bed and swings out wide pointing back at the trailer.
I hope some one has a better idea

This is just a suggestion from a light I have for the front of my. My front running light has a 55 watt driving light mounted on it . I feel you could take a running light pole for the back of the boat and wire a light to it. Plug it in the hole and turn your boat lights on and you should have plenty of light.

Magnum, I'll have to try that, my "masthead" light is pretty far off the ground(pontoon) so it may spread the light far enough out to make it work.
    Good Idea thanks!

I agree with using the boats running lights. Done this a few times, works well for me.

I like the leds but dont want to get into wiring into back up lights, adding a 5 pin connector, ect. Im thinking a cheap fog light mounted to the trailer near the winch so it will stay above water line. Tap into the tail light wire of the trailer and add a switch.
