I thought about drilling larger holes ns using the drywall spring loaded hangers but don't know if that will work.
Any advise? Thought id ask here since you and Mr. Butch fish bass rigs too.
When I had a bass boat I go some longer stainless screws to mount the bases. The most important part was to get the pilot hole the right size so the screw wouldn't bust the fiberglass as you run the screws in. Never had any problems with the bases.

Thanks for the feedback Stumphunter. I've had the bases on for 4-5 yrs now and hadn't had any problems so far, but I have nit caught any thing over 10 or so lbs with them either. That was my concern. Those old fat cats can bust a base out with out a problem and i would hate to loose my high end catfish rods and reels that way.
