I just got back from Anderson and stopped at two different places and you'd know they were already out of fishing regs. Oh well, I know what the size limit is and what the creel is for crappie in SC and that's all I need to know for now.
In case any of you venture to the coast to fish, the Sheepshead regs have changed: 10 per day and 14" TL. Max of 30 per boat. Was going last week but did not make it, was not aware this had changed until I got the new book Tuesday.

Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
I haven't went to look for one yet but need too. I know the limits where I fish but going to the beach this fall and dont have a clue about limits down there yet.
Butch, where did you try in Anderson? That way I can look else where.
Shawn, I stopped at the first gas station in SC on Hwy 29 headed from Hartwell to Anderson and then swung by Super Walmart on the 28-bypass on the way home.

I downloaded them from the DNR site below. I plan to print off the pages I want to carry on the boat but have the rest in this PDF file.
SCDNR - Effective July 1, 2012 - New Freshwater Fishing Regulations
i went on a perch jerk and crappie fish awhile back. i meant to bring a ruler so we could measure the crappie since they set a size limit of 8 in on wylie but forgot to get one. we caught a good many crappie, most of em on the smaller side. to be safe and since nobody on the boat had anything that would measure eight inches we threw all of em back but the obvious slabs
listen with your eyes---its the only way to beleive what you hear...
EASY WAY. Check it out.
Just remember a dollar bill is 6 inches long... so... mark the length of a dollar bill on something and then fold the bill in 1/3rds length wise and you have the other 2 inches total of 8 inches OR to be even more safe, a dollar bill is 2 1/2 inches wide and 6 inches long total 8 1/2 inches.
Hope this helps someone.
Politicians should be required to wear their corporate sponsors uniform like NASCAR !
Hey Squall,
You assuming us poor fisherman got a dollar bill in our pocket????
Actually I thought the same thing when I read Rango's post, but he catches so many it did not hurt for him to miss a few.
I have used a bill on several occasions to measure something when I did not have a ruler.

That would be good to know if a small 8" fish swallows a hook and you wanna keep from throwing it back. Thanks for that tip. (Not to doubt yall but I might have to measure a dollar myself. Reckon a 5 or 10 dollar bill is any bigger?!?)
