Dunno, didnt have the line turning blue but had some line on a few reels that really needed changing that had faded out most of their flourescent color before though.

I'll second that ... switched out a few reels to Vicious hi-vis 6lb test a few weeks ago & I'm loving it.

Fire Line, 8 pound test, 3 pound size, in green, you can cast a 1/32 oz jig a mile, almost. And no line twist either.

    Question What ???

Rango ... why are you having trouble finding Stren Gold ?? Look here -> Google Or are you saying it's not on the local baitshop/WallyWorld shelves ??

Just some FYI .... Trilene & Stren are owned by the same company -- I think Purefishing bought Stren from Remington in 2004.

I've been using Vicious hi-vis alongside Mr Crappie Super hi-vis (USA made version) and Stren Gold ... all in 4lb test ... and, except for the color differences, I haven't noticed one being better than the others. Well, not in the castability & strength dept, anyway ... which are the two greatest factors, to me, being a jig slinger.

Since Mr Crappie line is no longer made in the USA, whenever I run out of my current supply ... I'll probably switch to Vicious. But, I'll keep using Stren Gold, as well. I haven't tried the Taiwan/China version of Mr Crappie line, personally ... but, there have been numerous posts stating that it's not as good as it used to be. ... but, since Vicious seems to be just as good as my USA version of Mr Crappie line, it's not a big deal to change over.

    ... cp

I never used any of the Hi-vis line until this year, for my tight line reels, then all i could find wa P-line i want go that way again, strong line just to much memory and gets a little like wire.

I'm a triline man through and through mean green, its a little harder to see but last and last, one type I have used and still have on two reels is cajun red, that stuff never gets old but I don't like the casting of it Ijust us it for my tightlining rods...

pappie, didn't relize stren and triline were kin, cause i never really like stren.
    If you don't get hung every-once-n-a-while you ain't jigg'n it right..:D
