i also hate throwing back fish that will die, but i reckon something in the lake will eat em, so i try not to look at it as wasteing
well went out to catch som e perch for a cat tourney tonight on wylie . the crappie bite was great as fast as i could drop the lines but all too small. did keep about a dozen eaters around 12", the perch bite was bad but got a few for bait . that is the good part of the report.
now the b!$%$@$ part . i know it was a case of not thinking (i hope) but just because you see lights in the water don't assume everyone is downlineing, i set up about 50' from a ledge trying to do a little prefishing for cats. well started to get a little action going, hear come a fellow nightstalker, got directly behind me, right where i have 6 rods tossed and drops his anchors. i was just prefishing so i just reeled everything up and left, if it would have been tonight it would have been a different story i might have pitched a little fit the bad part is my boat is lit up like disneyland at night and you can see my rods and the way they spread from a 100 yards. so i will say it was just not thinking.
back to the good part , after we moved to get away!!!! set up in 36' of water for cat fun , put lights out again . started catching crappie before we could get all the rods out but again most were to small to keep. i hate they put a size limit on wylie. it will hurt this lake. i had to throw back atleast 20 fish last night that i know will die. and i hate to waste !!!!!!!

I know what you mean. It's just a waste. Folks don't show much courtesy anymore, but maybe you're right.........they just weren't thinking. Let us know how you do in the tourney! Good luck.
Hey.....open the livewell!
Thanks for the report and you handled them setting up on you very well.

Yep....I'd HOPE they just werent thinking. Still....I'da probably said something just to let them know they were crowding me just in case there's a next time. Maybe the size restrictions will help get more quality fish back in Wylie again. I'm guessing here...but I gotta assume that's the goal?!? It still hurts having to thow back a suicide when you know it's osprey food though. Congrats on your trip and I'll be looking forwards to your catfishing report tomorrow.:thumbup
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
