    Default 1/16/11 Wateree

Cabin fever got to me so I loaded up and ran to the lake. The old 4 stroke didn't like working in the cold so I have to clean the jets out before it would run. Finally got on the water and lines in. Marked some fish and only a little bait,( a few balls about 1/4" in diameter on the Sonar) the wind came and went and came and went. Water temp 41.2 and ran up to 42.1 by 4PM. Got one pull down that felt like a cat, but I didn't get a good hook set, the the day ended in a Shunk. It was a nice day on the water, even Gretzky my Golden enjoyed the day with Dad.
OK I'm done fishing now I want to do some catching!

Too bad they didn't cooperate. We went to Norman and fished some 50 degree power plant water. Caught fish but no stripes.

Maybe they need to warm up a little on Wateree. Now where to go next weekend?

Sometimes it aint just about the fish. Glad you was able to get out on the lake with your dog and enjoy yourself.

We tried Wateree today and only caught one nice sized perch. No other action. Bait is everywhere.

shdfshn, I saw some fish but not normal striper marks, some cats on the bottom. Did the water warm up any?

There was a lot of snow up 522 and on Rocky River. They must have been hit really hard with snow and ice. I tried a new route and went over on 200 thru Lancaster ( mistake) lots of snow there too. Snow seemed more on the West side of the lake

Scooper, best way to Wateree for us is 16 to 75 to 521 to 9 to 21 and turn at the flashing light to Wateree creek. Don't get a ticket in Great Falls! 54 miles to the Duchmans Creek ramp.

BTW I still got a back yard full of snow.
