I was just thinkin' about those pics you used to post of coach and the crew on the beast back when you were killin' the crappies out in front of the nuke plant in the dead of winter.
i got up yesterday morn and went outside just after daylight and had to chuckle. the wind was howling. thats nothing to chuckle about but----ot told me he was going to wateree. if he ws down there i could a been fighting the wind to. but i wasnt:D id turned down a offer to go and patted myself on the back for staying home. ot has a week or so off from work and he aint lettin no grass grow under his feet. i found out yesterday evening he dint go. i think all his crew backed out on him. dont think they wanted any part of the wind either.

Yeah, I was glad I fished the day before once I seen the wind! It would have been tough on the lake yesterday.
This morning has a bite to the air too but at least the wind has laid.

kunes a couple years ago i spent a lot of months scanning all my photos, fishing, family, army, kin folks, whatever they was plus all our family papers. it was a big job and i was wishing id never started it long before i finished. now i spend a lot of time looking back at the photos from that time. no doubt we had some good times. now that its all over with im glad i grabbed the camera and took the time to scan em. i liked fishing that creek we used to fish a lot. you know which one im talking about :D. when the water would turn cold the crappie would hug the bottom and me and jerry was killing em spider riggin minnows on the bottom. i think thats where i was the first time you ever seen me on the water cause you asked me on here if that was me in there. :D

I wasnt laughingwhen I first got up,,here it was still calm,,I thought to myself,,boy I shoulda went and not payed the forecast any mind.Thursday was the last day I COULD go because of coming on call at my work.It wasnt long after the wind started howling and I had a change of heart.I thought well, this time I DID the right thing and keep the boat under the shed.A guy told me water temp was 47 at wateree..
HEY,,WATCH THAT YELLOW ROD
We went to Wateree on Friday morning Christmas Eve-water temp 42*-the lake had very little wind.We striper fished but caught cats intsead. We had it on the trailer @ 10:30 due to my crew getting cold
Rango,

G3PO
no, except for the few trips i made with CK, i aint fished in that area in years. before i got the beast the nuke plant was one of 4 of my go to spots in that creek. when i got the beast and could ramble further and faster i found places i liked that also turned into some my go to spots in other areas on the lake and seldom put .

I often think about those cold nights out on wylie. I count those as some of the best times in my life. I think those few years has everything in the world to do with me going into fishing commercially. It's not as fun now though without all the people. Nice to look back and remember though. Hope ya'll are doing well.
