Thanks for the report Winchester. My fishing season was cut short by a truck coming around a corner on my side of the road when I was out riding my motorcycle. Can't do much with this knee immobilizer on. Missed all the prime fishing this Spring. On the plus side, I'll be doing more fishing and kayaking than motorcycling when I heal up.

The other side of the river across from Landsford is also owned by the State Park system, but it's undeveloped. Alot of people do camp there, but there are no rangers. I wouldn't camp there with my family. It is fun to get out on the rocks and fish. To get there turn by the Dave Lyles sign on Riverside rd, then take a left before you get to Dave Lyles. The road gets rough and turns to dirt for about 1 mile before it drops you by the river.

There is no camping up river from the HWY 9 bridge unless you make your own on an island. I also wouldn't try to put a pontoon in by HWY 9. It's a very steep ramp and there's no room for error. You'd be better off putting in off HWY 21 and riding up.

Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you also." They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.

And we act like this Nightstalking thing is new.

For some excitment, read the next verse. A special guest arrived, they filled their coolers and had a fish fry on the beach...in the morning. My kind of people.- Bowfin

This is the info ive been wanting, thanks man. I think we are talking about the same camping area, turn down past a old manufactoring building of some sort. And no, its not the best thing and some rough people do show up down there. And on the rangers, we all got ticketed last year for driving in to the campsite to far. So, they check ever so often.

By no room for error on the ramp what do you mean? It looks to be a nice wide concrete ramp. Saw several lager flat bottom boats load/ unload but nothing that had to back as far as i would have to with a 24ft pontoon. But also have a 14ft jon boat we may try out up there first.

And how far down is hwy 21? The dam?

Thanks for all the info, some more would be appreciated:D

They may have redone the ramp after the last few floods. It used to be very steep, narrow, and had a large drop off on one side.

The HWY 21 ramp is just above Nitrolee dam. There is another landing up closer, Bethel, but you have to get to it by taking backroads from the Lancaster side.

Didn't know the Rangers were patrolling the other side of the river. I like to park and walk out on the rocks and fish. Never caught much, but did enjoy the rock hopping.

Yeah, we go and camp in there for the weekend. If you walk the trail up to the largers shoals there is a nice hole, about 10ft deep. Always done good up there.

Sunset I've havent been online in a few days. I don't know about camping up there. I didn't see any posted signs on the big islands just up from the bridge but I really wasn't looking. I would have to guess Duke power owns them but that's just a guess. As far as the landing it appears to be in good shape but it is steep and slick. We spun quite a bit pulling a 16 ft boat out. I don't know how far the ramp goes out before it drops off either. Bethel landing is about 5 miles down river from hwy 9 and Hwy 21 landing is a couple miles down from it. The dam is about a mile and a half from hwy 21 landing.

Bowfin, I hope you heal up good. Fishing from a yak is fun, I'm about ready to get mine in some water soon. I started doing a little bit of that last year and it was a nice peaceful change of pace.
