Default Traveling to SC, looking for place to fish near I-95

Hello from a North Carolina Crappie.com member. My name is Greg Power. I am traveling from central NC down to Sandy Run, SC on business this Friday. My family will be with me. My 10 yr old son really got the fishing fever last summer. He wants to fish on Saturday morning while we are there. Are there any decent places to fish from the bank saturday morning that is close to I-95 or are there any SC Crappie.com members that provide a reasonable price semi guided service for a 1/2 day. My son would prefer bass, but my passion is Crappie. Either would be fine with us.

I guess one question I need to ask is: are the fishing biting in SC right now since it has been so cold.

    Thanks for your help.

    Greg Power

Wished I could help you Greg but I dont know anything about that area youre talking about. The fish on my end of Ga./SC border arent doing anything right now unless you get real lucky and just happen to anchor right over top of a few. Maybe someone else can get you headed in the right direction. And welcome to Crappie.Com.

    powerg,

I can't tell you excatly about what the fish are doing but the lake is probably muddy as all get out.

You can fish from the pier at Santee state park which is up lake (Elloree) from I-95. Also like gut bucket said you can fish from the old 301 bridge If you choose that I'd try the northern side on the clarendon county side or north end; the water should be clearer up that way...

My last option is if you want to troll and just go fishing I may be able to take you saturday morning, but I haven't fish santee in a couple weeks. If you want to try I'd try and set up something with you just PM me with your contact info and we'll talk.

    hope this helps.
