That's good to mention, I was buying a new pair of Gore Tex boots and the guy says that you need to keep them clean or dirt would fill the GoreTex and then it would wick water into the boot rather than out. Never knew that

you wont go wrong with a rain suit made of gortex. I think theres other fabrics out there now thats waterproof but breathable. BPS has one i bought a few years ago thats still working good. last year i give that suit to the wife and i bought a bps suit made of gortex. if you plan on using it year round, i wouldnt get one insulated, rather id get it big enough to go over my outer wear instead, unless you plan on gettin one for warm weather. a uninsulated gortex suit is light, and can be stored in a ammo can on the boat till needed.

My fishing partner sprung for the BassPro 100MPH suit. He loves it and weve been out in some nasty rain and hes stayed dry. I have a set of Grundens bibs and Jacket from when I was working on charter boats offshore that Ill wear if its going to be really bad. But 99% of the time I wear a pair of Gander Mt. bibs($90) and a good jacket made by viking (had it for years) No problems with leaking and it wroks good to cut the wind on cold days. The one thing I wish my jacket had is, Neopream chuffs on the sleeves. In a hard rain I always seem to get water down my arm while tring to keep my hood on. Ive been thinking about looking into tha BassPro jacket and liner(for cold days)

one thing i wish mine had was a velcro strap to roll the hood up in to keep it from hanging down behind my head and gettin wet inside before im ready to use it. i think im gonna have the kitty put me one on it.

I believe Gore Tex is made by one company, fashioned into several different configurations by other companies and marketed under those individual names.
As long as you stay with the Gore-Tex name and choose the style of clothing that suits you, you will be well pleased. Other then owning several Gore-Tex products, I have no ties to the manufacturer.

i have a bps pro quilerfier (gore tex). i have had great results with it so far. it's only a year old though. never thought i'd pay that much for a rain suit, but i found it on sale last year about this time (bps atlanta) and haven't regreted it, yet.
