call minn kota, mine started acting female and i called them and they sent me a newer version remote for free.

Go to FISH307 Fishing Tackle Trolling Motor Downrigger Parts & Repair Superstore . You can buy replacement parts and rebuild one pretty cheap. I've done it several times.
