I have said it before I'll say it again southern crappie rods are the way to go made from carbon and Kevlar and way cheaper than anything out there.

I know you are getting a lot of advise but you ask for 2 completely different rods, one end of the spectrum to the other in that price range. The Caps and Coleman's are very sensitive and you better not give em no slack or they are gone after setting the hook, gotta set it too. The Ozark's have a good tip and a bunch of backbone.
Almost everyone has mentioned Southern Crappie Rods and they are kinda in between on tip, prolly lean more toward the C&C's, and the backbone is awesome. Have noticed several selling their C&C's to buy the Southern Crappie, on top of that they are cheaper than either of the 2 you mentioned. Good luck what ever you decide.

Since nobody has mentioned it, I will...Wally Marshall Troll Tech rods are awesome trolling rods. That's all I troll with from 8 foot rods to 18 foot rods..The 18's are a little heavier than I like but that's mt one and only complaint. My #2 choice would be BnM PST 16 footers...Very comparable to the Wally Marshalls. I know you are looking to buy something used and I can't help you there....Just throwing in my

I just pick up 2 southern crappie rods a few weeks ago and have used them a few times now. I'm really satisfied so far, I've been tight lining with them and can't wait to use them in Florida come December long lining.
