    Here's the oil filter glitter....



    Personally I think when they hones the cylinders, they forgot to clean out the engine block. dono, just a guess

    Hopefully only from those bearings and not from another surprise.

    Well if they used Ford bearings for main bearings Lord only knows what other shortcuts were taken. Cracking the Case like you did always gave me confidence in a engine when I did it. You know exactly what you are working with.

    If that is from the honing they left lots of abrasives to cause problems

    Honing generally doesn't produce material of that size, that's main bearing material IMO.

    I'm sure you're right about the sparkly stuff. But maybe the honing material took out the main bearings, dono. I'd think wrong bearings would not only scar a channel in the center of the bearing, but the whole bearing. IMHO, debris in the earl took out the bearings, and maybe it started off as bearing material debris (from one bad one, which took out the others). It's kinda like what came first, chicken or the egg.
