So assuming the HDSI will be moved to the bow with the 998 ...

And assuming the 2d xducer will still be used for high speed ...

You will need the M 9 SIDBY Cable to connect the 2d xducer and the MEGA xducer to the HELIX ...
    https://www.humminbird.com/Products/9-M-SIDB-Y/

You will need the AS EC QDE Ethernet adapter cable for the HELIX ...
    https://www.humminbird.com/productDe...eid=728&id=868

You will need an Ethernet cable long enough to reach between the HELIX and the 998 ...
    https://www.humminbird.com/productCa...74&facets=7319,
    -----

The HB TS3 Switch cannot be used with the MEGA unit and still have DI from the MEGA xducer (there is no wire channel in the HB TS3 Switch that corresponds to the DI wire channel in the MEGA xducer cable) ...

[url]https://www.humminbird.com/Products/9-M-SIDB-Y/...)))) I really would like to be able to use the 2d transducer. The M9 cable will allow me to use the 2d transducer on the helix correct. Will I have to go into the unit and tell it what transducer I want to use. I wont need a switch?

You will be UNABLE to use any switch with the Mega SI unit, the current 2D XDCR supports 175-225 kHz Chirp.

    9 M SIDB Y | Cables | 720101-1

Y Cable - Side Imaging and Dual Beam - allows you to use two transducers on one unit without the use of a transducer switch. For use with Side Imaging products only, in conjunction with a dual beam transducer only. For improved high speed performance for bottom tracking. 30"

    SUPPORTS MEGA SIDE IMAGING

Will I have to go into the xducer settings and pick between the 2 xducers everytime I'm on plane. How many of you have had any luck getting the mega xducer picking up at speeds around 25-30

I have mine very low - just barely kissing the water and my rig runs about that speed - no issues, is you use the splitter you leave the MSI XDCR selected and there's no switching required.

As Robert mentions, there are no settings to change with the use of Y cable and an additional 2d xducer ...

The HELIX will get 2d from the additional 2d xducer all the time (the Y cable disconnects the 2d piezo in the MEGA xducer) ...

I just figured it would have to run on one xducer, is the mega xducers 2d just over ridden by the added 2d xducer. So all ill have to do is plug and go
