Default 6 years in a row for Lowrance

6 years in a row Lowrance pro's win the bassmaster classic. Do they just pick the right guys, or do electronics matter?
My tournament experience would say that it doesn't matter what you are running. All brands I have run show fish, weather it's 2d, SI, or DI, Seeing them is one thing, catching them is another.
I can recall showing them and thinking this is it, and catching nothing for hours. I can recall not showing anything because we we were fishing 2ft or less and the electronics never came into play.

It's still up to the angler in the boat to pick the right bait for the condition, or change the bait to what the fish want. I would say that even if we went back to flashers only, the angler is the most important component in the boat.

Donnie you are so right. My late friend and I used to fish a certain stretch of Ky Lake over and over for bass. Watched the Bassmasters event there one year and Kevin van Dam pulled up on one of our spots. Which was like WOW we had something picked out that a pro went after. Then he proceeded to hammer more and bigger bass off that spot than we had collectively caught in forever. They're just flat out good.

I would venture to guess that 95% of pros would use any brand that gives them the most money/products ...

What is not seen is how many pros run something different under the console (out of camera view) to get specific features not available in their sponsored brand ...

It's all about the money... not the brand ...

I concur !! Just look at some TV Angler "pros" ... they're not all hawking the same line, rods/reels, boats, etc. that they were years ago. And Bill Dance will tell you straight up ... he uses what his sponsors pay him to use.

I'm reminded of a show Bill Dance did, years ago, where he was fishing for Bluegill with his grown daughter ... with "throwback" footage of them fishing for Bluegills when she was a child. They were using crickets ... which the child called "chirps". And his (grown) daughter asked him why he didn't do more shows on catching Bluegill with crickets ... to which his answer was that the bait shop guy didn't sponsor his show
