    Default First brush pile

This is my first pic from my new Helix 10 of a new brush pile that we just put in. Still got a lot to learn about the H10 just need to take the time to read the instruction manual, but it's so hard to stop and do that when you could be on water fishing!

Pretty sure I didn't have speed matched to the boat, I think chart was about 4 and I was probably only running around 2 at the time was more focused with putting out the piles. I pulled this pic at a later time from running the recording playback in simulator mode. I'm just getting started with using the SI, I will cut the brightness back a little I played with the contrast and sensitivity but did not seem to be able to get a really sharp clear image, seem the higher they went things looked more pixel-ed. I ended up with them both set to 6.

    Is your HELIX 10 G1 or G2N ...??

    G2N has a dedicated DI piezo ...

G1 blends the SI data into a image that "looks like" DI ...

It is normal for blended DI from SI to not be as detailed as dedicated DI ...

    It is a Gen 1.

Rickie I have a 597ci HD DI would the image from that unit be clearer since it is a dedicated DI as compared to what I'm able to get from my Helix 10 G1?

Yes ... The SI piezoes are pointing 60° to each side ... so any structure that's actually under the boat are in the lower sound strength fringes of the 2 SI beams ... giving very weak returns of structure straight down ...

A dedicated DI piezo is pointing straight down ... where the the strongest part of the DI beam can get strong echo reflections of the structure directly under the boat ...
