Default Hard Cover for Helix 5 ?

The Helix 5&7 do not come with a hard cover. HB offers a neoprene cover with elastic to hold it on but not what I want. Has anyone come up with a hard cover that can be used on the Helix 5 with one of Podunk Ideas cover hold it dohickies so it can also serve as a sunscreen? I have gone through the plastic storage aisle in W*M with my ruler and have not found anything I can press into service.

    Here's hoping someone else has.

I haven't found one either but have a question about you helix 5. Will they auto update over gps? I haven't had mine on the water in a while and last weekend it all of the sudden has a new page and some features are different. Didn't know if you have had the same thing happen to you.

Uh - no. Mine is still on the worktable in the garage while the boat is in the workshop stripped to the hull. I have only had it out twice when I built the temporary mount is sits in today and did a test run in my old boat.

I am curious what New Page and Features does yours now have?

No the unit will not update itself ...(with any type scenario) ... You have to manually command it to update when you insert a SD Card with an associated .bin file on the SD Card ...

Is it possible you changed the "User View" (under the Setup tab) from "Normal" to "Advanced" ...??

This would add extra menu selections not available in the "Normal" user mode ...

The GPS diagnostics view is "Hidden" by default ...

If that view is "Visible" in the view rotation ...it was changed to "Visible" under the Views tab in the Main Menu System ...

Oh ok gotcha. Still trying to figure it out I have never been a real big locator guy so it's really high tech for me. Lol. Any pointers for locating crappie during the winter on the specific locator.

1st and foremost ...you need to be where the crappie "should be" for the present water temperature at the time ...
