There is something interfering with the beam a few feet to the left of the transducer. It looks like it could be turbulence in the water......do you have this at all speeds as well as drifting. Is this a transom transducer? What is your speed? Is the trolling motor running?

+1 What kind of boat? Appears to be a few fish off left side and water column near bottom.

Good thinking, I am/was assuming it's always like that. Sans the fish of course.

I bet your transducer is on the right side of the motor. If so it is the prop wash from your motor. Try trimming your motor up while scanning. I have mine mounted on my jack plate so i dont get this on my screen but I have seen other units do the same because the transducer is mounted too close to the motor

Haven't been on since I posted. Yep its interface from the troller, but that's not what I'm talking about. I've gotten used to that. Hadn't noticed the specs in the water column, is that what they look like? I have no clue.

My problem is look at the depth and then look at the water column depth. Water column is right if it matters.

    I missed that before ...

I'm kinda at a loss as to why the digital depth is 22.5ft but the water column only goes to ~11ft ...

It did that several times last week. I could pull my ducer up and out of the water for a second, put it back and it works fine again. Water column was always the right depth all day.

Here are a few things to check ... ::

"Water Type" setting under the Sonar tab to "Fresh" ...
"Max Depth" setting under Sonar tab to 10' below deepest water in your lake ...
"Noise Filter" setting under Sonar tab to as low as possible without excess clutter showing ...
"Restore Defaults" under Setup tab ...

Check xducer for level with the water surface ...
