    Default Well I Did It

I have a Helix 7 SI combo on order and they hope to start shipping around 9/1. I found it for $639 plus $5 freight. I think it will be a big help to me since I fish in 3 private lakes and the deepest one is only 18', I mostly in 6 -12' of water. I hope it's as user friendly as they say because I will need it to be :-)))))

Congrats! These are shots from an 899...same screen size and resolution as the Helix 7. The Helix 7 will probably be a sharper image than the 899.....and you paid almost 400 less than I paid for the 899. If the Helix had been out a year and a half ago it would have been what I would have bought. Very user friendly. Notice the two bass hanging around the crappie. I was catching crappie and a buddy of mine was in a boat trailing after me and when I told him there were a couple of bass down there he threw in a crank bait and pulled a nice one out. I can't hardly stand to fish without the si unit. By the way...in the 2D sonar screen that is not a tree. It is hundreds of crappie stacked on top of one another.

I just found out, to get the best pictures from the Helix 7 I need to upgrade the transducer to the HD version. Oh well to late. I'm sure it will be a lot better than what I have now

I wouldn't worry too much about that. I wish I had not spent money to upgrade to the HD transducer. There is some difference in the image but not that much...IMHO.

    It's not too late ...

The unit cannot be "Ordered" with the upgrade xducer ... It will come with the stock XNT 9 SI 180 T (Compact SI) ...

When you receive the unit ... Do not open the package that contains the xducer and xducer hardware ...

Call HB and tell them you want to upgrade to the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T and they will set you up (as long as you haven't used the xducer or the hardware package) ...

Just had a lot of medical problems and my PTSD got the best of me for awhile but I'm working my way out of it. Have hernia surgery next Tuesday ans when I'm over that I hope it's cooled off enough to fish :-)))))
