    Default 898 Down Imaging

Does anyone with a 898 get good down imaging pictures? My DI shows little to almost nothing. I keep seeing the nice DI pictures you guys post and can't get anything outta mine. Is there a certain way you guys have it set? I plan on getting a DI only unit for the front of my boat, but would like to use DI at the console when I'm searching. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! BTW, last time I was out, I kept getting a bunch of vertical white lines on my DI views. Why would that happen? Batteries were charged and my SI and 2D views were fine.

I have a 958 and a 1198, I can see a little difference. If I was going to do it again I would buy a 998 for the TM. I would have SI and the DI is comparable. If you would like to see some pics off of both let me know.

Had to go pull a card and get some images for you. Wanted to make sure that I had what I knew for sure was a 1198 and 958 image.

Did the vertical white lines on the DI image only show up when the TM was running...??

Is there any other electronics running on the boat at the same time...??

It's not unusual for the HB SI units to have less detailed DI images...there is no "down pointing" piezo in the HDSI xducer...

The DI image in the SI unit is a computer generated blend of the data received from the the left and right "side pointing" SI piezoes...

Imaging aiming a flashlight "straight down" vs aiming that flashlight "sideways"...more light will hit the target directly under the flashlight with the beam pointing "down"...

Got rid of the lines, changed TM and installed some ferrite. It is an older pic I already had taken the coords off.

I'm assuming the top two are from the 958 and the last from the 1198? Guess I will have to get on the water n play with it some more. Only my second time using it. My TM was running at the time but my xducer is on the transom. Probably need to rewire it. I'm using the wires that were ran by the previous owner of my boat. It may be wired through a console line right now.

Correct Peeps you can see my 2 jigs in the second pic. First and second are the 958, last one 1198. Both give me all the info I need, except how to make them bite!! LOL

I haven't played with my DI on my 899, but it looks nothing like that. Mine never has anything on it when I flip through screens.
