Gonna have to wait and let someone else take a stab at this one but I will stay tuned for answers
I have a blue outline around a certain feature at the top of the 2d display image below (HB and Lowrance both have it)...
1. What is this feature...??
2. How is the data collected for this feature...??
3. How can this feature be used on the water...??

temperature gauge that gives the temp for a certain length of time, and this way you do not have to watch it all the time,u can check and tell if where u are headed is getting warmer or other way to help find better water temp

Have noticed but never used this! Looking forward to the answer, so I can learn something for today! Genec's post above seems logical to me. Had to look it up and won't give away the answer! I can say HB has a less than ideal explanation of said feature, at least that I could find.
+1 what genec said........it can help you see temperature trends that could be especially useful in spring to find the warmer water and more active fish.
+2 for Gene's answer. I use this feature some.

Great answers guys (and correct also)...
Now Sonar Quiz #14.5...
What determines the actual numbers assigned to the upper and lower scale ...(displayed at the left of the Temp trend scale)...??

surface water temp at the transducer would be my guess.
Agree with Redge.....plus/minus 10° of the average temp
