Default New HB 7.090 Software for 998c SI

I just installed this software on my 998 and the DI and SI (water column to bottom) has little white vertical saw tooth looking lines. (455kHz has less than 800kHz) Neither are good quality. I am not sure I even need 7.090 but have not been able to find document on changes made. I only run one 998 with toggle switch to front and back ducers. I also have a 360 TM. I had 6.740 installed and everything was acceptable. HB "Customer Service" ask me to go back to Factory Default and lower contrast for 1-3 and see how it looks. I am set up just like I have always used with my old software and played around some with contrast and sharpness, it did not make that much difference, but did not go that low. I have already reinstalled 6.740 and plan on going back to the lake to make sure it is OK. Does anyone know how or where I can find a document concerning the changes that were made in 7.090?

    I found this...:

    General Fixes
    • Removes NMEA0183 functionality when i-Pilot Link is connected
    • Corrects issues caused when user follows the contour while recording an iTrack and AutoPilot is turned on.
    • Corrects issue where iTracks were not being deleted from all units on the network
    • Corrects issue where sonar continued to ping after sonar was turned off.
    New Features
    • Adds support for AutoChart PC and Zeroline SD cards

    And this...:

I haven't been able to find any relation to your specific issue...but I'm still looking...

FWIW....I saw that same anomoly in my 1197 for every version after 6.310...except the saw tooth extended from the same place yours is showing... all the way to the bottom edge of the display ....

    Also...try DI Enhance Sharpness off...

This could be a leftover from a different anomoly in past versions...

Try the DI Enhance Sharpness Off and see if it goes away completely...

See if sonar beam select is set to 200/83kHz. If so, set to 200.

Danny, I did not think the 200/83 would have any influence on the 455/800kHz down image? It may have been set on 200/83 because that would be my normal setup.

Rickie, I try the DI with the Sharpness "off" it was a little better but still there.
    Thanks All, Doug

I'm going to reinstall 6.740 and make sure everything still looks good. Then decide if I want to reinstall 7.090 and try again. The only thing that might interest me in Rickie's earlier post was .....
    • Corrects issue where sonar continued to ping after sonar was turned off.
    New Features
    • Adds support for AutoChart PC and Zeroline SD cards

There are some issues casued by the 83Khz frequency......I would try turning it off and see what happens.

I had the exact same problem except noticed it on recordings viewed on Humviewer. Found article on Google about it. Turned off 83kHZ and problem went away.

My understanding is FF is always processing all frequencies whether looking at SI pr sonar.

The only difference here is I noticed on recordings... Worth a try.
