    Default Navionics Card

I was looking at cards the other day at Cabellas & noticed they are in zones. If the state line is the border for the zones as in Georgia/S.C. & there are lakes on the border which zone do you buy ? The guy at the store said you had to buy both. Would the one for S.C. have lakes Hartwell & Clark Hill or the one for Georgia or do they split down the middle of lake ? Doesn't make sense.

What sonar do you have? Look at the Navionics + you load the areas you want there are no boundaries

The South Carolina one (East) has all the border lakes on it. I've fished Clark Hill and Russell and the entire lake is on it. I just wish SC was in the same region with GA and Flordia since I fish that more than I do anything north of me.

I have not seen that option. I think he was talking about the navionics SD chip cards which are by region. I know they have a newer option called Insight mapping but I have not tried it. The new unit Lowrance is sending me to replace my Elite 7 is supposed to be preloaded with all maps. Can't wait to see what that looks like.

You can go to Navionics web site and there is a list of lakes that are on each card.

Follow this link to the website they outline whats available on each regional chip http://www.navionics.com/en/hotmaps-platinum . Whats on the web app will be on the chip, just a reminder if you have a unit that will run a Platinum you get the High Def Sonar Charts layer. On the web app after you zoom in click on the Sonar Icon on the lower left corner for the SonarCharts layer. Nav + doesnt have boundaries and covers everywhere in North America

Thanks guys, that helps. Don't have a unit yet. Just getting info & ducks in a row in order to make a good decision. Being in S.C. I assume the coverage includes the bays & inlets on the coast. DO you know how far off shore it goes ?

The East card has most of our lakes and the Platinum East is the card I'm going to buy.

    Hey Ronnie,
I have a almost new Premium East that I am probably going to sell. I need to get my new DF in and see how it looks, but I am thinking I won't need the card. If so, I will take $100 for it. I paid $149+tax in May for it.

    PS
Hey B Man if Ronnie doesn't want it I will sell it to you for same money if you are interested.
