Were you getting an incorrect depth reading off the top of the coffer dam cells...??

(On the lake side of Ky Dam, Brett....left from construction of the dam in 1938-1944)...

The 80' reading in the last shot seems more correct for where those actually are...

I wonder what the "zigzagg" lines against the bottom detail are in the 800kHz shot ...??

They don't show in the 455kHz shots...

I did have a picture of the coffer ,that was taken during its construction but I can't find it.
I do have this picture that I took today of a barge ,that is tied to what would be similar to the coffer.

Rickie, its possible that it could be a dept glitch,I didn't really pay attention to the dept reading.
If I remember correctly while on the top of the coffer cells the water gets into the 30ies and off the sides into the eighties and the deepest water is closer over towards the intakes, its a little over 100ft.right now.(theres some kool looking things over there that look like tombstones standings up)

Im not sure either rickie, thats the first time that I have went out to 300+ range. Im guessing that it could be the pulse modulator on my trolling motor.i have all filters, currently turned off.ill experiment some to see if anything changes

Kosmo your slower speeds helped me today and wanted to thank ya. I was out looking for gill beds and just wasn't getting what I've been seeing from you and others. Remembered some of your shots and slowed down and worked with scroll speed and finally got one marked off the bucket list AND pulled in some fish...thx again, we learn a lot from every ones post.

Brett when I first saw those from some of his earlier shots I had the same Q lol

Those are awesome pics of the coffer dam

Brett and coffer dam is made of interlocking panels that are hammed into the ground one sheet at a time. Once the dam is built the water can be pumped out so the building can began. Most of the time these panels are removed after the building is complete but some just can't be pulled out. I have seen times when they send a diver down to cut the panel off, this may be the reason those in the pics are still there or they were low enough after the lake filled to not be any danger and it was cheaper to just leave them in place.
