I own all 3 models(HB, Garmin & Lowrance) & have seen great snapshots from all 3. Keep them coming.
wanting is easy, actually paying for it is the hard part.
in my defense, he also told me I was not going to live forever. got to enjoy it while you can

When I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations I have a good day
The DI looks pretty good, but notice on the lower right that there is virtually no SI beyond 25'. That is why us HB guys stick with the HB even though the DI isn't quite as good on the SI units......unless you get creative like Rickie and Kosmo.....Then you can get the best of both worlds.
it would be full coverage with 455khz and I think both lowrance and hb are confined to the same coverage as they use the same frequencies
the other possibility is the the motor is too low and blocking the transducer on the left.
No, the SI coverages are not the same. HB has a full 180 degree coverage with 455Khz and Lowrance does not.....the HB SI coverage is also greater with 800KHZ. Lowrance will not officially publish their SI beam coverage.
The SI coverage is what Lowrance had to sacrifice in order to utilize the dedicated DI transducer in their structure scan transducers.....it is not the transducer itself that causes this, rather the filtering that has to be applied to the software to prevent interference between the dedicated DI transducer and the SI transducers.
ok, interesting,
The effective fan coverage of HDS sidescan is approximately 60* per side. The downscan fan coverage is approximately 50*. What you are seeing out there in the "dark area" DonG is nothing.
I hate calling DI/SI cone angles. It is just a narrow fan shaped beam (1*) width. Numbers are approximate.

The HB has better coverage to the sides because of its 90* side fan beam (per side). Works good in shallow water but probably sucks in deeper water. Not sure.
