wilson boat ramp change
ok, my dad and I went to Wilson Saturday morning before the rain. DIdn't fish long, but I put in at Lock 6 boat ramp. I had seen it from the lake many times, but never put in there. HOnestly, it is the best ramp on the entire lake in my opinion, and it is only a few hundred yards from the one we are using now. The ramp at the bridge is just not well suited for a tournament day. It is ok just to fish, but with alot of boats and a weigh in it is just to small to et in and out of. I called Keith and he agreed we shoul dchange it to lock 6. I am oing to give directions to the ramp. It is VERY easy. The ramp is at the mouth of Shoals creek and centrally located. It has a double ramp, with 2 peirs that are in reat shape. The outside peir actually has a wall so it would should protect the ramp in rough water.
If you are comin from Athens
as you are going through Killen, about a mile before you get to Shoals Creek Bridge, there is a traffic light at Lock 6 road. Look for the Killen CHurch Of Christ on the left. Turn left on lock 6 road and follow it to the river. THere is a right turn onto the ramp road. Wathc for the sign.
If you are coming from FLorence
cross shoals creek bridge headed through Killen. Just passed Turtle Point there is a traffic light at lock 6 road. Look for the Killen CHurch of Christ on the right. Turn right on lock 6 road and follow it to the river. Turn right onto the ramp road and watch for the ramp sign.
everyone, just before the ramp on lock 6 road, keep right and look for the boat ramp sign.
