A word of caution on the glass beads. I don't use them here because the green turtles we have will bite them off the hook. I only use metal beads now. Just something to consider if you have turtles...

I think you just answered your own question, bugs, smaller fish mostly. Smaller fish is the first, bugs second. There is no food item that I know of that "only" Specks eat (the same for other fish)...
