Wow, those brackets are brand spanking new now! Great job Roho.
So I'm ready to crank the Caddy up and set the timing but I hate to do it without water circulating thru the engine. All the front engine brackets are funky and the new power steering pump needed a different pulley.
I always take pictures before removing brackets, I didn't use to but lesson learned. This power steering pump was slinging fluid out around the shaft coating everything with funk.
A bit of diesel and a fine steel wool pad made short work of removing the dense solids built up on the brackets. A good degreaser was used afterwards to wash the diesel residue off.
I use a red scotch brite pad to scuff the factory paint, scrub any areas with solids remaining after the wash, and clean up the little bit of rust that exists. Once that's done a wax & grease remover was used to wipe down all the brackets before painting.
I painted the undersides of the brackets first then flipped them over and put 2 topcoats down before a coat of clear was applied. Tomorrow I will post the final finish.

Here is a picture I took this evening after allowing the Clearcoat to fully dry. Now after working on my other 3 vehicles (I have to put my auto mechanics hat on for the entire weekend) I can install the new power steering pump with the brackets and the alternator with its brackets.
Clear coat on parts only few will see! I see. Nice…

Shoot some House of Kolor Chameleon or Flip Flop on them, Old School Effects, not too many painters these days doin' that kind of painting anymore. I'm hoping to put a cool paint job on my S-10 someday. I took a Airbrush Class from this guy Home - Craig Fraser Studios at House of Kolor years ago while he was pushing his new book Cheap Tricks and Special Effects IWATA Automotive Cheap Tricks & Special FX by Craig Fraser
