Gbcorley I don't build as many rods as you do. Fancy wraps are not something I do as I don't have the skill or patience. I make mostly fly and light freshwater rods, and try to keep the rods as light as possible. If I build saltwater inshore rods I'll probably try some cross wraps. Oh yeah, eventually I'm gonna build on a JDM blank with a solid carbon tip.

Skeetbum I'm also not a fan of split grips. I have arthritis and prefer a fuller reel seat and full length handle, it's more comfortable. The carbon fiber grip is made by CFX. It's the 8.75" spinning model. It's designed to fit inside the American Tackle Aero reel seat. The grip and reel seat were purchased from Mudhole.
