My wife and I took our new Aliner camper to cordorus State park for a 3 day maiden voyage. I got to fish Lake Marburg from the bank for a few hours and caught 5 small crappie. These were caught under the second bridge with 1/8 ounce jigs. I seem I always catch a few ones there but never the size I am looking for. Oh well at least it is a report on crappie!
Shenango lake is hot right now. Not a lot of 13”crappies but some fat sided 10’s. Had a great day yesterday. Caught well over 60 fish in less than 4 hours. Kept 15. Throwing triple tail jigs on 1/16 oz heads was the ticket. Every Brushpile I fished in 14ft held fish.
Went fishing on the Clarion River today. Caught 7 walleye,3 small ones and 7 keepers. The smallest keeper was 16in and the biggest was 19in. Hot pink and purple colored blades on wormharnesses did the trick today.

Patrapper, good job, those are nice. I see you also caught a cousin of theirs.
Unless you’re a golfer, I don’t see why you’d put the rods away during the summer. The fishing is great at this time of year also. Most species get together and form huge schools. They are easy to locate and when found, a blast to catch. A good locator is a must tho. They will help you follow the schools as they roam from spot to spot daily. Some may find a great spot that holds fish all summer long. May not catch as many big ones as in the spring or fall but there’s plenty of good eating size or catch and release too. Protect yourself from the blazing hot sun by wearing light colored clothing and stay hydrated. Go early morning or late afternoon. Enjoy your free time on the water.
