    Default Looking for info

I'll be at Fort indian town gap for a couple months starting in early April. Looking for tips on good crappie lakes close by. Haven't decided whether to pull my boat out there or not. I'm from central Missouri so it'll be a little drive.

You would be about two hours from Raystown Lake at Huntingdon Pa. probably one of the finest lakes in Pa. Lots of crappie plus great bass, striper and lake trout. You would be 40 minutes from Blue Marsh Lake at Bernville Pa. a little bit of everything. It would be 1 1/2 hours to Codorus State Park at Hanover Pa. it is a 20 HP limited lake lots of good pan fishing. I take it you are in the military! I was a Captain in the USAF back in the late 60's early 70's.My son was a Captain with the 10th Mt. Div. in the late 90's. Always like to help military people any way I can. If you don't bring a boat and want to spend a day or two at Raystown send me a PM and we will try to set something up. I'm 73, a little slow but known the lake well,Fished with a Bass Master Club there soon after it opened for years. Now I try to get several trips a year there.

Memorial Lake has Blacks and Whites just outside FIG to the SW. Electric motor only Lake. Never fished there myself, But have read decent reports from the lake in the spring. Should be pretty good in April - will be pre-spawn. Keep us posted if you try it out.
