Anywhere off the causeway or down near the dam would be the first place I would start. Seems that around the bridge would be the best place until the water starts to warm than anywhere around the causeway is good espeially at night once the water warms up. Really like fishing that causeway at night on nice warm spring nights. The causeway becomes it's own little city. How high is the water? Can you get to the walk way on the causeway and stay dry?

Greg, the crappie bite is slow down here for us but we're pickin up some really good size ones. I'm on my buddy's computer so i can't post pics but i will when i get back to town. Real windy out this morning so we'll get a later start. Have they opened up the lake yet? There'll be some hungry slabs waiting for you guys when they do. Take care. See you next week.

You would think, since they have all the gates open, that it would be down more than it is, it has been two weeks since they were first opened. Probably Pymy, and Wilhelm opened theirs too, and it isn't letting Shenango drain down as fast.

I"M BACK......... and this cold weather is killing me. Left there at 60*, got here and it's 20*. Really makes me want to move south. The fishing wasn't great but we had a good time. The lake was high and they were pulling water like crazy. 1/2ft or more each day we were there. We fished the flooded brush and didn't catch any. Brushpiles in 12ft, nothing. The deep water, 15 to 25ft, payed off for us. Jigs hang glided at 20 and minners drifted at 17 were what worked for us. Lots of deep brush where we were. I've already made my reservations to go back during the spawn next month. Hope the lake is more stable then. Here's a few pics of me and T.O.

Well done Smitty! Glad you got the chance to get away for some crappie action. Hey, Shenango is finally below 900 again so we have that going for us, but spring weather still looks to be on hold for at least another week.
