Had a fantastic 2 hours on Bald Knob Lake. Boated over 60 chunky 8 inch bluegill. Would have stayed longer but the heat ran us off. I say us as I had my wife along for my net girl Seriously it sure makes it nice to have her along. She can even back the trailer down. This lake is a complete puzzle to me. Yesterday I found plenty of bluegill beds. I am puzzled as to why you can’t find any bluegill after the spawn in this lake. You also rarely catch dinks out of here. All of these fish are at or around the 8 inch mark with real good girth. I had one shell cracker. It is obvious I have missed the shell cracker spawn. It had to have happened in the first week of April. Ran into a couple of live scopers again and they told me they didn’t find a single crappie. The Diplomat rod is a fun rod to fish. It is solid tip and very sensitive. Although a solid tip is very different in sensitivity than a tubular tip. You feel the pressure in the tip when the fish hits. The fish hook themselves with this rod. The spawn will probably be done by the time I get back out there. Going up to the White River next week for some serious trout fishing.
