    Default Saturday trip

My leave time got delayed this morning by a rain shower and the threat of another .
But , I was able to get to lake McIntosh a little after eleven and fished until 2pm .
    Rods used today
4’6” St Croix Premier ULM , Shimano Soare s2000csspg
5’4” Major Craft Finetail Mountain Stream, Shimano Symetre 500
    6’3” Abu Garcia MB3 , Shimano Stradic 1000
All spooled with Daiwa J braid and 3# Floroclear leader .
I started with the 4’6 SC with a .5g tungsten jig and 1” black curly tail.
Plan was to catch at least five fish , then switch rods .
I caught six, mostly small gills , including a fun little shellcracker that put a nice bend in the SC .
Next up was the new Major Craft , and moved to a new spot .
Turned out to be a good move . I caught three nice bluegills and a cracker/bluegill hybrid out of that spot .
Then the bite just died . I went back to the spot where I started , but nothing. I went a good forty five minutes without catching anything.
A swap to my Abu Garcia and a new location and I started catching small gills again. I caught about a dozen including a small green sunfish and a small green fish.
Mostly cloudy , occasionally a little wind and a little drizzle once , but not a bad day .
Best catches of the day .

    Forgot to mention.
This was a comparison trip to see which length rod I liked the most .
    It was kinda inconclusive.
I liked fishing with all three .

Chaser, I carry five rods when I go and usually all of em get to play some. Sometimes I still have the five but the one I pick up first never gets put down. No reason, just happens that way.the second rod has the looks along with the pic of the last fish, extra nice colors. Hybrid? Glad to hear you found the window to get a few, I got out myself.

Yes , the last fish is a cracker/bluegill hybrid . Those hybrids fight like a cracker .
The second rod is my newest . The Major Craft 5’4” Finetail Mountain Stream rod . I’m liking it better than its fiberglass brother . Unbelievable how sensitive the mountain stream rod is . Coupled with the Daiwa J Braid , I feel every little tap .
