The panfish jigheads have a longer hook .
I Target anything that will bite and I’ve caught a lot of different species on the TM .
Just make a long cast , retrieve slowly twitching the rod tip as you wind . Sometimes I’ll stop and let it drop for a second or two .
The magnets are a hard bait to fish wrong! They are my number one go to for stream fishing using all types of retrieves. The fish will tell you what they want that day.

That purple/blue crappie magnet worked good for me earlier this year.

He’s talking about Panfish Magnet vs Trout Magnet. And those two are exactly the same lures. As Gill said the only difference is the hook shank is longer for the Panfish Magnet jig head.

My bad, I read the post incorrectly. I didn't even know they made a panfish magnet.

A little background of how that came to be. A lot of bluegill fisherman that used the Trout Magnet jig head were complaining they were losing fish. The owner called me and asked was I having any issues of losing bluegill. I really wasn’t but I told him the hooks were not as sharp as I would like. So they came out with the Panfish jig head. This was years ago and I can’t tell you how many times Jeff has changed the hook for the TM jig heads trying to get it better. At one time the hooks were made in USA…but not anymore. I moved on from the TM jig head as it only comes in 1/64, which I seldom use. But the TM lure itself is just about all I use.

    Regards

Which jig head do you use? I would like to get a little heavier than 1/64. Finding a small jig head with the right size hook is the problem for me.

I’ve use the 1/32 Trout Magnet jigheads and they work well. I believe the hook is a 6 . But it has the longer shank. Not the crappie magnet jigheads , trout magnet jigheads .

When I go to the Trout Magnet website and look up Trout Magnet jigheads, it list them as 1/64 oz. with a heavy size 8 hook.
