It would be really cool build making a super ultralight slow pitch rod setup, solid carbon rod 1/8" at the butt super small reel and the lightest braid made. Use it in 20+ feet of water for blue gill perch and crappie.

LOL, same here. Only I went with Sardine, Red Gold and White (white Bitsy Minnows are my last ditch lure). I’m curious to see how they do.

Australians….Brits…..are catching a lot of fish with these also.

These are almost a copy of offshore fishing jigs. Butterfly jigs. Have 2 full packs of them.

These arrived today about 2 weeks after I ordered them. They look great but that sure is a tiny hook! I’m excited to get out and try these out.

I may end up trying to get some #8 trailer hooks

These were on the front page of digitaka and may be worth looking at if you are considering a trailer hook.

I said the same thing about how small the hooks are.
If you cast it they will come.

I tried out the Major Craft Aji Metal today for the first time - I think I will enjoy these but did donate one to the pond. I'm not sure I will fish with these much more from the bank. Water levels are way low and it's too easy to get hung up.

Also - I went ahead and ordered some Duo #8 trailer hooks. Once I get to using them - I’ll let y’all which hook is getting more strikes.

    Default New bluegill lures.

It took about a week but the trailer / assist hooks arrived.

I’m not a fan of how big the split ring is on the back - may get some swivels to attach them to. We’ll see how it works out though.

Fished the red/gold with a trailer hook this afternoon for like 30 minutes. Caught 12 in total - 10 bream and 2 crappie. Every single one was caught on the trailer hook and not the assist hook. Both hooks were tipped with crappie nibble.
