    Default My childhood dream

I always wanted a boat, a canoe would suffice but I really wanted a Jon boat. I found a Bass Pro catalog in a recycling center and wore the pages out reading up on them.

My mother in law bought late 80s/early 90s v hull on Marketplace for their farm as a surprise. Took it out with a local, landed 29 gills/crappie to his seven bass/larger crappie the other night.

All of my success was on a panfish magnet.

That’s great! Some good fish too. I remember being so excited with my first boat, a 10’ Jon. It had one hole big enough to drop a softball through and another big enough for a baseball. Patched em and used it for years. We don’t have to have bells and whistles all the time. Have fun with it.

Hard to believe that 30 years later one would forget that they lusted over something so simple. Either way, the best things in life don’t cost much. I’ll be looking forward to all of my trips to the in laws!
