    Default Pop,Pop, BANG!

Fished the same lake the past 2 days and that little green BoogleBug popper was hard to resist. Wednesday, caught a nice fish on a Creme worm and then lost two good fish back to back on the same lure. One on the hookup and the other right on shore. Fished some deeper water using a spinner w/split tail grub trailer with a few caught. Changed to the popper when started noticing fish coming to the surface in this deeper water. Nothing big but a few decent fish. A family shows up and their dogs start swimming so decided to call it a day. Back today, started with various plastics, but nothing happening there. Tied on that same popper and it was game on. Nicer fish today and all came in shallower water. Highlight was that beautiful pumpkinseed. Thanks for lookin!Name: DSC01103.jpg

Beautiful fish! Topwater is great fun. Tried it last evening but only caught a bass.

Yeah, that pumpkinseed is sure a pretty one. Nice photos and story, MR. I’m heading out later to see what I can drum up. I’m thinking poppers with an EZ Float if it looks like they’re rising.

Great catch! I’d take a trip like that! Almost two weeks since I’ve wet a line and not sure if it won’t be 3. Some pretty ones.

Hit a small lake back in the woods today. Two nice green hybrids grabbed a little floating crank before giving the poppers a try again. Everything caught in the shallows was either a green sunfish hybrid or what appeared to be pure green sunfish. Didn't connect on a gill until moving to the deeper water of the lake. Lost a popper and fish when wrapped around a submerged stump and line snapped when I gave a light pull. Probably a nick in the line on that one. Also lost a couple fishName: DSC01125.jpg

Size: 133.5 KB when they got wrapped up in weeds and managed to get free while trying to pull them in along with what seems like 5 lbs. of weeds. Doesn't it seem like it's always the nice one's that get away? Quite a few smaller fish today but managed a few decent one's before the rain chased me out. Still enjoying that top water action, nice when they will rise to the occasion. Thanks for lookin!
