Myself I like the chest mount better. Able to follow the action better.
Some on here watch my youtube channel. I have been thinking of going with 2 viewing angles...which requires another camera....another microphone...and maybe some different video editing software. Well I kind of threw the 2 angle idea out the window. Most know I love buying JDM rods and reels.....the extra camera setup would cost a lot of money I could be spending on new gear.......so I threw the idea out. But now I am wanting to go back to the camera on the chest mount vs the Yolotek pole mount. As fisherman.......which view would you prefer? If I stay with the pole mount I am going to have to break down and buy a wireless mic.....if I want to play that way I have to pay. Here are 2 videos of each view. Thanks in advance.

I like both perspectives. Maybe switch it up a little during a fishing trip? I’m not sure how much of a pain that would be or not. Regardless, keep the videos coming Randy!

We watched them before on the chest mount and your following started that way . It's really about the fishing experience that draws folks . My vote , go back to what you like .
The chest mount shows more dynamic action and clearer shots of the fish. The view is sometimes blocked by your hands and reel, tho. No getting around that. The pole mounted shot just looks a little too static, but gee, it's mounted on a pole. My wife prefers that view.
I vote with D10 on a mixture of the 2. Perhaps do your intro or outro from beside your boat to mix up the view.
Whichever you choose, please don't go to a head mount. The weaving and bobbing back and forth kicks my vertigo into high gear.
Keep up the good work.

Going with just one I think the chest mount shows more action.
Either way I will still watch great VIDEOS! I like the pole mount to see the rod tip and bend action my opinion.

I appreciate you asking for our input. Some just do what they want regardless. I prefer the chest mount as the static mount really just shows the same thing repeated. I like your videos and the education you offer during them. Watching some other folks with two cameras, they are able to capture some action that even chest mounts can’t get. Take a look at some of Jeff Hammers videos and you’ll see what I mean. He’s local to me and until recently has been mostly silent. Hopefully some of the prices on equipment will get more reasonable and you could give this a try. I have a few videos myself and know the time and work involved, much less the equipment, of which mine is very basic. Good luck with it all, and keep it up. We all enjoy them.

Not a huge fan of the chest cam, but do like the way it frames fish up close to see markings, size, shape, etc. Chest cams get a lot of hands and reel in the frame, and not enough of rod bend and fish fighting behavior. Mic on camera on chest sometimes sounds a little better due to not having to talk as loud over static noises. Camera mounted up front just frames video a little better, dead center, equal sides of boat and surroundings in back ground. Your twitching method is definitely more visible, and is a frequent question you get/answer. When the bite occurs and the rod bends, I tend to watch the rod action, parabolic bend, shaking, running, digging etc of the fish. With much experience, most can tell what fish is hooked by bite and fight. Front camera angle seems to show that more on the rod. You are buying, trying, and reviewing these wonderful rods for us, let us see them bend under the pull of a Panfish. Wind action and current wakes are a little more pronounced with front angle, less with chest cam as you are in center gravity of boat, and sitting to boot. Like D10 said, maybe a combination of both can be achieved with one camera, do not know. I also know you are out there to fish, and not fool with video equipment. One of my college jobs was a co-op at an outdoor video production company, I was just a young grunt, but do realize the work that goes into filming in the outdoors. I will continue to watch, to get information on rods, reels, lines and lures. I love research and information, think it is a key to success. Your videos have made me more successful.

I've gone back and forth. I like them both, but prefer the "Chest Mount View". It's more like as a participant vs. a spectator. If would be wonderful if you could include both but about 90% from the Chest Mount. Nice video, I wished I was there!
