    Default Day 5 - BIG fish day @ LP 04 27 19

Perfect CNBG weather, low overcast, very light breeze = six Bluegill @11" or better. We were very fortunate that the boat traffic was minimal for a few hours so we decided to keep trolling the same area that we did the day before. Jim lost 3 very big fish - 2 were on SOS line.... He did manage a new PB - 11 7/8 - heartbreaker, so close to 12. Was having problems with my camera - got the board pic - thought I had one of Jim holding it. We got it on his camera. Kept 20 fish in the 9"range for some friends. Tomorrow is the last day - going to rain Monday. Going to be hard to beat today.

I'm still feeling the jet lag from the flight home and didn't get in until 5:30 yesterday morning, four hours later than projected due to severe storms around Las Vegas. Thanks again Sonny, I had a great trip. These fish are so strong, I lost several fish during the week that could have been bigger than my PB. If you didn't get them up right away they buried themselves in brush and broke off. The fish before my PB smoked me, was palming the reel trying to slow it down and get it coming up and toward me but it would have none of that and kicked my rear end until it finally broke off. It fought harder than the 18" bass I caught earlier in the week, never forget that fish. That day was incredible, didn't go five minutes all morning without a hookup, getting them in was another story. Fog hung around all morning which was key on this day and they were still biting when we left, my last fish was 11" that morning. I will get some pictures up in the next couple of days.
