So I'm new to the whole cracker game. I know they're typically bottom feeders and a lot of people mainly use redworms. I'm a jig fisherman and would much rather use plastics. I'm thinking that the Betts Grunt would be the way to go, but I don't want the spinners, I have no need for them. Does anyone know where I can get the Grunt bodies? All I want is the body, no hook and no spinner. I know I'm not the only guy that goes after them with strictly plastics, so what do you other jig fisherman use?

Yes the 1/64 head, any jig with a sharp edge or large barb will tear the body after a few fish

Trout Magnets get me all the shellcrackers I want....haven't started fishing for them this year yet but will soon. You can check my past posts and see how they perform.

Bobby Garland itty bit swimmer, in eclipse (black on top of blue), key lime, or all black. Can use the Bobby Garland 1/64, or 1/48 oz #8 jig hook perfectly with these.
Killer bait for panfish.
I generally use a ball head 1/32 oz #8 or even #6 Lil' Nasty or sickle when I use them.

i only fish plastics and i find that leland's trout magnets are hard to beat. i've caught over 200 shell crackers this spring and only used them. my go to color is bison but just about any darker color will work. i rig up two different ways. one is conventional with a 1/64th head. the other is just something i tried and it works is i rig up a carolina rig with 1/4oz slip sinker, and an 16-18'' leader. for my hook i use a #6 or #8 short shank baitholder hook. it works great keeps the bait just a few inches off the bottom.
