Default G. Loomis Pan Fish Rod?

Anyone use that 7 ' rod for around 300.00 for bream? I need to cast lightweight jigs and was wondering if they were worth the money?

You can have a great JDM rod for 300 bucks delivered to your door that will blow that rod out of the water. I had an older Loomis model that I gave away to my son when I got into JDM rods. Is it worth the money...if you want it I am sure it is....but you can have much better for same price, or maybe even a little less.

Agree with Alphahawk. For $300, I'd rather have a JDM rod.

Just curious, as to what reels, y'all use on those JDM rods?

Yes I use a shimano clarius 7ft medium light. I also use a lews Spinning Rod 1 Medium light 7ft. Great rods for 1/16oz jigs and 1/32. Good for jigging and reeling. When they hit it u barely have to jerk

another one to consider is a st croix panfish rod. i have two one is 6'9" ultralight fast action. the other is 7' light power x-fast action. i couldn't tell ya which i prefer there both great rods. i fish em with shimano sedona 1000's and use 2 or 4lbs test mono. i can throw a 1/64th trout magnet 60-70ft. both of these rods run $110. reels are about 70.00.

I wouldn't pay $300 for a rod, even if it was guaranteed to catch a fish on every cast (and it's not because I can't afford to pay that much)

    Seriously .... !!!

If I want to go "micro-lite" ... I'll haul out my Mitchell Zero Gravity rods. (6'6" High Molecular Density Carbon)
If I want to go "Lite - Med Lite" ... I'll use my ESP rod (6'6" PowerLite).

Both of them have been used to cast 1/32-1/16oz jigs for Crappie, and have performed very well.

(Note : The Zero Gravity rod is no longer on the market. And ESP rods are cheaper when purchased thru Grizzly Jigs Co.)
