    Hard to tell from that angle - could be a Goggle Eye aka Rock Bass - but from the shape of the anal fin I would guess Warmouth.

    Did you get a side shot of it? That would tell.

    Its the best kind of fish. LOL

    Could be a goggleye or a green perch, hard to tell from that angle, and they all look a bit different depending on location and what kind of water they are in.

    Green sunfish, and a dandy at that. The blue on the face and orange fin outline tell the tale. Common in ponds where hybrid bluegills were stocked. The genetics lean towards green sunfish as breeding occurs through several generations. Supposedly make great flathead bait as they are aggressive and fight hard, as you found out.

    Warmouth will not have blue lines on the face. Rock bass have more anal fin spines and a teardrop under the eye.

    That is a Warmouth aka Goggle eye . Green Sunfish lighter colors .

    That is definitely a green or a hybrid with strong green dna. No blue on war mouth head.

    Green sunfish hybrid is my guess .....there was for sure one green parent ....the other parent is quite questionable though ....lol
