    Red worm, crickets, small minnows: they'll hit surface during spawns but 2 to 4 feet to bottom otherwise. Like previous posts, they like to run with the bait. Had more success giving 'em 2 seconds of slack line before setting the hook not too hard. April with good luck around big moon in May.
