Never feel the need for them Crappie fishing. Have used them on tiny jigs for Bluegill and did just as good with them on a bare hook. If I don't use bare jigs it's live worms.

I truly believe in using scents such as Nibbles.. However there is a great product out there called Juiced up Baits that comes in a spray and a gel.
I guide crappie fishing trips and always use Juiced up Baits in my jigs and even live bait.

Either way you can't go wrong using a scent.

I've got a jar full of chartreuse ones but probably don't use them like I should. When I do I always put them out in the sun for just a few also. It helps them stay on a little while longer anyway.

If you like nibbles then you should try Stubby Steves. Works better, stays on hook for a long time, doesn't make a mess in your boat, and they now have chartreuse ones.

Try working a little cotton into your nibbles.Make you up some when your bored. The cotton helps some with the scent staying on the hook.

I never leave home without em' I have caught bass, catfish, bream and crappie with just nibbles on a #4 hook. I slip 2 of them on at the bend and just cast under a float. My jigs are always tipped with them as well. I only use the white and chart colored ones never bought any of the pink ones.

If you guys are as insane about "NOT" getting crappie nibbles in the carpet as I am, then here is a little tip to help curb the situation a wee bit. We use tube jigs almost exclusively on both regular jig heads and roadrunners as well. I purchased 2 of the 65ml animal syringes ($1.75ea) from the feed store, trimed off the outer skirt that the needles screw into so that the little nozzle where the fluid exits is exposed.
I fill it with nibbles and place it upside down on my knee and place the tube jig on the end and fill it till it pushes itself off. I can usually go several fish before I need a refill and it sure beats the $25 they want for the name brand screw type injector. Only catch is you need good fresh, soft nibbles or you can rejuvinate some older ones by placing in bowl and add a wee bit of warm water and make a paste.

Works like a champ and they come in a plastic holder you can put them back into when done and keeps things fresh till the next time.

I use nibbles with a little anise and make a paste of the nibbles. Push the plastic jig into the paste and pull it out
and cast. Lasts longer and panfish can't knock the nibbles off the hook.

Try leaving your crappie nibbles out and let them get a little dried out before putting them on the hook. Fresh ones will dissolve in the water pretty fast. I've dried them with my wife's hair dryer in a back room. When she got back in the house she got her nose up in the air and said she could smell something. You should have heard her howl when she opened the door where I had them out. Whoeeee!

Thank goodness, she has a sense of humor. By the way, they did work good. They will continue to harden up so don't dry them out too much. Leaving them outside for several minutes will work too.

Love trout magnets & like to tip them with a piece of a worm.
