They taste the same to me-good! Catfish are not bad if done right, but not as good as bream. IMO-You're forgetting the best eating fish in any water, blowfish, puffers, toadfish, whatever you want to call them. Very hard to beat.

    Default Good eating

Gills and shellcrackers are just as good to eat as crappies. Best eating fish even better than walleye, the yellow perch, but down here they aint!!But caught out of the great lakes, or some of the big lakes up north, they are super good.

Pond brim aren't bad either if you soak them in Buttermilk or salt water for a night before freezing or eating. My granma taught me that this draws the bad taste out of the meat and makes it sweeter.

So do the bream compare to either?

    Thanks

I think crappie are best of all freshwater for taste. Bream and bass come in second. Catfish last
